AND THOSE ARE, THOSE ARE NOT JUST POLICE AND FIRE, WHICH USUALLY GET, I THINK A SEVEN OF THOSE WERE POLICE AND FIRE, BUT 10 WERE OTHER GOVERNMENT, PUBLIC WORKS, GENERAL GOVERNMENT, UH, POSITIONS, PARKS.

UH, WE DID ANOTHER EVENT, EVENT COORDINATOR.

WE HAD NO EVENT COORDINATORS TWO YEARS AGO, AND NOW WE HAVE TWO AND THEY HAVE A BOSS.

SO WE EXPECT SOMETIME IN 2026 WE'LL BE AROUND ONE 60 ISH ON THE EMPLOYEES, MAYBE A LITTLE BIT MORE AS WE ENTER INTO OUR, UH, BUDGET, OUR MID-YEAR BUDGET CYCLE IN MARCH, APRIL, WE'LL PROBABLY GO BACK TO THE COUNCIL AND SEE WHERE WE'RE AT.

WE HAVE, WE HAVE A NEIGHBORHOOD PATROL WHERE OFFICERS LOG WHEN THEY GO THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE WE'RE AT LIKE A HUNDRED THOUSAND OF THOSE AT THIS POINT, UH, IN THE YEAR.

UH, 'CAUSE WE, WE HAVE CONTRACTS WITH, UH, SEVERAL SUBDIVISIONS, UH, UH, MUD DISTRICTS, UH, UH, W CIDS, UH, CITY.

WE, WE, WE ALSO PROVIDE FIRE AND POLICE SERVICE FOR THE TOWN OF PROVIDENCE VILLAGE.

THEIR POPULATION IS HOVERING A LITTLE OVER 11,000, ALMOST 12 NOW, BECAUSE FOUR E RANCH IS REALLY ROLLING.

THAT, THAT'S IMPORTANT TO THIS GROUP AS WELL.

WE'RE MOVING OUT OF THERE HOPEFULLY IN NOVEMBER INTO THIS NEW STATION.

UH, THIS NEW STATION CAME ABOUT BECAUSE WE NEEDED TO MOVE A LITTLE BIT FURTHER NORTH.

WE NEEDED TO GET OFF OF THREE 80.

WE WERE WITHIN, WE COULD THROW A ROCK AND HIT LITTLE ELM STATION THREE.

SO WE NEEDED TO MOVE FURTHER NORTH WHERE WE HAVE MORE PROTECTION OF OUR CITIZENS THAT, THAT ARE ANTICIPATING THAT AND PAYING TAXES.

SO THIS, THIS STATION WAS BORN OUT OF NECESSITY.

UH, WE COULD NOT FIND A LOCATION FOR IT.

WE FOUND A COMMERCIAL LOT ON FRONTIER PARKWAY AT FM 1385.

THE, THE OWNER WANTED, UH, A MILLION DOLLARS FOR A ONE ACRE AND ONLY 0.65 OF IT WAS USABLE.

UH, THEY DID COME DOWN DOWN TO 800,000, BUT WE WERE LOOKING AT ONLY 0.65.

AND THEY WERE GOING TO PUT SOME RESTRICTIONS IN IT THAT WE COULDN'T HAVE A DRIVE WE WOULD HAVE TO SHARE WITH AN APARTMENT COMPLEX, WHICH DOESN'T WORK FOR A FIRE STATION.

SO, UH, THE FIRE CHIEF AND I SPENT A COUPLE OF WEEKS SCOURING THE AREA OUT THERE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT MIGHT BE AVAILABLE.

WE LOOKED AT SOME CRAZY IDEAS TOO.

SOME, UH, SOME HOA LOTS INSIDE THE SUBDIVISION.

WE LOOKED AT, WOULD THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SANDROCK GIVE US A SPOT AT THE SANDROCK ELEMENTARY SO WE COULD PLANT A FIRE STATION.

WE TALKED ABOUT A TEMPORARY FIRE STATION.

AND ONE DAY WE WERE SITTING IN MY OFFICE AND WE SAW THIS LOT INSIDE, JUST INSIDE WIND RIDGE.

WHEN YOU FIRST COME IN, IT'S A VERY, VERY NARROW LOT.

WE HAD TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TO THE RIGHT OF WAY IN ORDER FOR THE SETBACKS TO ACTUALLY WORK.

BUT THE COOL THING ABOUT THIS, THE NOTICE AT THE BOTTOM PHOTOGRAPH, THIS WAS A NARROW LOT.

SO WE BUILT A TWO STORY FIRE STATION, WHICH, YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS, RIGHT? FIRE TWO STORY, FIRE POLE.

UH, THIS ONE WILL HAVE A FIRE POLE IN IT.

THIS IS ACTUALLY A PUBLIC SAFETY CENTER.

IT'S 15,000 SQUARE FEET.

IT CONTAINS ABOUT 10,000, ABOUT 12,000 SQUARE FEET OF FIRE WITH BAYS AND THEIR LIVING QUARTERS AND THEIR WORK AREAS.

AND IT'S ABOUT 2,500 OR 3000 FOR THE POLICE.

THE POLICE DEPARTMENT ARE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION.

DIVISION IS GROWING EVERY YEAR.

WE'RE ADDING DETECTIVES.

UH, THEY WERE IN WHAT THEY CALL WHAT WAS HUMOROUSLY CALLED TRAILER HALL IN PROVIDENCE VILLAGE.

UH, FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT MAY BE NEW HERE.

UH, WHEN PROVIDENCE VILLAGE STARTED OUT, THEY WERE A-W-C-I-D.

AND, UH, THEY, UH, CONVERTED SOMEHOW.

THEY DID THEIR MAGIC AND THEY CONVERTED INTO A TOWN.

THEY BROUGHT IN THREE PORTABLE BUILDINGS, AND THAT WAS THEIR TOWN HALL.

AND THEY CALLED IT TRAILER HALL.

'CAUSE IT LOOKED LIKE A TRAILER.

WELL, OUR CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION WAS HOUSED OUT OF THERE AFTER PROVIDENCE VILLAGE BUILT THEIR NEW TOWN HALL.

THESE ARE GOALS THAT WE CAN WORK ON.

WE CAN CHANGE, WE CAN REVISE.

THIS IS NOTHING THAT IS SET IN STONE.

IT'S A WORKING DOCUMENT.

SO, UM, WHAT I WANTED TO DO IS JUST KIND OF TELL YOU WHEN, WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT, WHAT I'M GONNA BE DOING.

AND I WILL AGAIN, UPDATE THIS AS WE GO THROUGH THE YEAR.

AND YOU'LL HAVE UPDATES BEFORE YOUR MEETING, UM, EACH TIME.
